Pentagon chief Ashton Carter said in a speech in Washington today that Russia, Iran, China and the Daesh terrorist organization were the major challenges for the United States.

"China and Russia are our main rivals in the military industry," he said, adding that the US doesn't want any conflicts with any of these countries, RIA Novosti reports.

He noted that Washington cannot turn a blind eye to these challenges, saying Iran is among other challenges for the country, as well as the strengthening terrorist group of Daesh.
