Azerbaijani Constitutional Court approves results of parliamentary polls

The Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan approved the results of
parliamentary election today, Trend reports.


The decision was made according to the protocols of November 22,
basing on articles 86 and 109 the the Constitution and the Electoral
Code.


Results of elections in 46 polling stations were considered invalid.
The results in the rest of the electoral districts were approved.


The Central Electoral Commission approved the protocols on election
results on November 22, 2010. The protocols were signed by 17 out of
18 members of the commission.


Azerbaijan held parliamentary elections on November 7. According to
the CEC, 50.14% of the population, 2 480 205 people, took part. There
were 690 candidates.


The previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005.
Azerbaijan uses a majority system with 125 electoral districts.
