Two thousand women protest against police and PKK battles in Diyarbakir

In Turkey, in the center of Diyarbakir, a march is taking place of women activists who have gathered there from all over Turkey, including from Istanbul and Ankara. The demonstration involves about 2000 people.

Activists are chanting slogans "Peace! Talks!" and "Long live the resistance of Sur!" At the same time, a battle between Turkish soldiers and members of the banned PKK is ongoing about 2 km away from the location of the rally, so the march's participants can hear the sounds of shots, RIA Novosti reports.
