Peskov: we hope for the success of the meeting between Patriarch of Moscow and Pope

The Kremlin has welcomed the decision to hold a meeting between the Patriarch of Moscow and All-Russia Kirill with Pope Francis and hoped for its success.

"Certainly, we all hope that this meeting will be successful,'' the Russian president's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"We highly appreciate the willingness of the two church leaders to hold such a meeting," Interfax cites him as saying.
