Date of second meeting on Southern Gas Corridor announced
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe second meeting of the Advisory Council on the Southern Gas Corridor is scheduled for February 29 in Baku. The first meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council was held on February 12 in Baku, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan said.
Invitation letters were sent to the Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze, the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Berat Albayrak, the Greek Minister of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy, Panos Skourletis, the Albanian Minister of Energy and Industry, Damian Gjiknuri, the Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova, the Italian Minister of Economic Development, Federica Guidi, the Montenegrin Minister of Economy Vladimir Kavaric, the Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining, Aleksandar Antic, the Croatian minister of economy Ivan Vrdoljak, as well as the Special Envoy at the Bureau of Energy Resources, US Department of State, Amos Hochstein, Trend reports.
The list of guests also includes the Vice-President for the Energy Union Maros Sefcovic, the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti, EBRD Managing Director for Energy and Natural Resources Riccardo Puliti, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, World Bank's newly-appointed Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Cyril Muller, Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Takehiko Nakao, TANAP`s director general Saltuk Duzyol and TAP executing director Ian Bradshaw.
It is planned to transport 10 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas from the Caspian region to Europe via Georgia and Turkey within the framework of the Southern Gas Corridor project.
The Shah Deniz field is a primary source of the initial phase of the project, the second stage of the project will export the gas to Turkey and Europe through the expansion of the South Caucasus gas pipeline and the construction of Trans-Anatolian (TANAP) and the Trans-Adriatic (TAP) pipelines.
