Astrakhan tourist who lost crampons evacuated from Elbrus

A tourist from Astrakhan, who could not descend Elbrus on his own after losing his crampons, was evacuated from the saddle of the mountain by helicopter,  the press service of EMERCOM in Kabardino-Balkaria reported.

"The search and rescue operation to find a tourist from Astrakhan on Mount Elbrus has been completed. A mountaineer was found by the rescuers on a helicopter of the private company ‘Lama’ at an altitude of 5100 m. He was evacuated to the Terskol base,’’ YUGA quotes the agency.

Doctors have evaluated his condition as good, and hospitalization is not needed.
