Cinemas to be fined for showing foreign films without subtitles in Azerbaijan

Cinemas in Azerbaijan may be fined 2000 manats if they show foreign films without subtitles, the chief of a department of film at the Culture and Tourism Ministry Yusif Sheykhov said.

The official noted that foreign films without subtitles disturbed society.

"We have instructed cinemas to negotiate with their distributors and gave them time until April 15th to provide films with subtitles," APA cites Yusif Sheykhov as saying.
