Armed Forces reformation in Georgia

A meeting of the Georgian National Security Council was held today. The Defense Minister Tinatin Khidasheli and the head of the General Staff Vakhtang Kapanadze spoke at the meeting with a report on the reform of the armed forces.

Following the meeting, President Giorgi Margvelashvili announced the Council's decision, according to which the Georgian Armed Forces will have a new structure. "Today we discussed the important issues in the country's defense, the new structure of the Georgian Armed Forces, we established a new structure, according to which Georgian Armed Forces will have two commanders - the eastern and western,’’ Georgia Sputnik quotes the president.
