Case against Maikop mayor closed

of Adygeya has closed the criminal case against the Mayor of Maikop,
Mikhail Chernichenko, who was suspected of exceeding his authority,
Kommersant reports.
The case was closed due to expiry of a deadline. The prosecution has
one month to check the legality of the decision to close the case.
In November 2008 the heads of a pharmacy chain filed a complaint
against Chernichenko for exceeding his authority. The complaint said
that the mayor’s structures were hindering the opening of drugstores.
In the complaint, the heads of the pharmacy chain said that they
suspect the mayor of being involved in the problem, as his wife was
the head and co-owner of the Maikop chain Yugpharmservice.
