UN concerned by destruction of 30-year archive of Zaman by government trustees
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaTrustees, determined by the court, have eliminated the 30-year electronic archive of the opposition newspaper Zaman in Turkey, which contained numerous articles about corruption in higher spheres of the government, one of the employees of the newspaper reports.
"According to the order of the trustees, the entire electronic archive of the newspaper since 1986 was destroyed, including numerous materials about corruption in the highest echelons of power, as well as the government's assistance to terrorist organizations (in Syria). Only neutral articles are being published now. Criticism of the government is not allowed. Only the editor-in-chief was dismissed, but we expect mass dismissals of journalists,'' RIA Novosti cites a source.
