Russian citizen admits espionage to US government

Russian citizen Evgeny Buriakov has admitted his guilt in the United States on charges of espionage.

Reuters has reported that Buriakov made a statement on the recognition of his guilt at a meeting of the federal court in Manhattan.

According to the American side, as an employee of Vnesheconombank Evgeny Buriakov gathered economic information for Russia, including data on the US sanctions and was under the cover of the Russian Foreign Intelligence, Gazeta.ru reports.
