EU and Cuba normalize relations

The European Union and Cuba have signed an agreement on normalization of relations.

"This is a historic day for our bilateral relations," the Reuters news agency cites the words of the head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini. However, the Government of Cuba and the European Union will have to ratify the agreement in order for it to come into force.

Recall that Federica Mogherini is currently paying an official visit to Cuba, the purpose of which is to give an impetus to negotiations on political dialogue and cooperation, RIA Novosti reports.
