Atambayev has not prepared a successor on democratic principles

Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev said that he is not preparing a successor, since it contradicts the principles of democracy.

"In those countries where a successor is appointed, the road to democracy is blocked. If I as president will prepare a successor, then democracy will not come to our country. People must choose a worthy leader by themselves,’’ Atambayev said, stressing that he sees his task as ensuring transparent and fair presidential elections in which everyone will be able to participate, RIA Novosti reports.
