The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed information about the crash of a MiG-21 aircraft in Syria. It is reported that the aircraft belonged to the Syrian Air Force.

It is known that militants of a terrorist group downed the aircraft in the area of the city of Hama. The first pilot was shot from the ground, the co-pilot was able to land on territory under control of the government army, RBC reports.
