Mastlenitsa is a Slavic festival of many days celebrated before the Great Lent. It has its origins in pagan tradition, but was continued after the adoption of Christianity.

Pancakes are the main dish of the carnival. They are fried every day starting from Monday, but especially a lot from Thursday to Sunday.

This weekend the capital's parks have become a platform for celebrating this fun and wholesome folk festival.
