Former Mossad head Meir Dagan dies

The former director of the Mossad espionage agency, Meir Dagan, has died in Israel at the age of 71, Mossad said in a statement.

He had been suffering from cancer, Interfax reports.

Meir Dagan was born in 1945 in Novosibirsk, but his family emigrated to Israel.
