The Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu said prior to the start of the Council’s meeting that Ankara and Brussels have the same goal, trying to reach an agreement on the migration issue.

"Our goals are clear: to help Syrian refugees and deepen the Turkish-EU relationship. The EU and Turkey, we have the same goal. I hope we will achieve our goal and reach an agreement," Davutoglu said.

"Turkey has received 2.7 million refugees, without any significant assistance from anywhere," RIA Novosti cited him as saying. "We will continue the open-door policy," the head of the Turkish government promised.

Recall, yesterday in Brussels the European leaders have agreed on a common position on the migration agreement with Ankara.
