Turkish capital introduces increased security measures, media report

In accordance with the new concept of maintaining security in large shopping centers of Ankara, police officers will monitor safety, it was decided by the Department of Safety of Ankara, Turkish TV channel NTV reports.

Armed police officers will be on duty in 36 shopping centers, along with the employees of the private security firms traditionally responsible for security in these areas, but who are often not armed.

The police tasks will include overall maintenance of order, the fight against fraudsters and more careful control over vehicles of visiting customers, TASS reports.
