Early elections to Majilis and maslikhats come to an end in Kazakhstan

The early elections to the Majilis (lower chamber of the Parliament) and the maslikhats (local authorities) have come to an end in Kazakhstan. The majority of the polling stations closed at 5:00 PM MSK, but they were open until 06:00 PM MSK in several western regions, located in a different time zone.

There were 9840 polling stations in Kazakhstan, as well as 65 sites at the diplomatic missions of the Republic abroad.

234 candidates were competing in the Majlis from six parties, as well as 10825 candidates for seats in the maslikhats. The elections were observed by 955 representatives of foreign states and international organizations.

Preliminary results of the turnout and the first data exit polls are to be published at 9:00 PM MSK.
