De Mistura: Political transition is necessary to end war in Syria

The terrorist acts in Brussels, carried out by terrorists of Daesh, are an indication of the fact that Syria needs a political transition to end the war in the country and to concentrate all efforts on the fight against Daesh, the UN special envoy on Syria Staffan de Mistura stated today.

"We need to extinguish the flames of war in Syria. We need to find a political solution and it requires a political transition in Syria, to make sure that together we would be able to concentrate on the fight against the real threat to everyone in Europe, in the world and in Syria," gazeta.ru quoted him as saying.
