State Department: US doesn't plan to restore Palmyra with UNESCO

Now the United States won't participate in the restoration of Palmyra, which is to be coordinated by UNESCO, State Department spokesman John Kirby stated.

I don't know about any plans of the US in the context of UNESCO's intentions and attempts, or its participation [in Syria, –  editor's note],  he said.

Russia has confirmed its readiness to assist in the restoration of Palmyra, RIA Novosti reports.
