Muslims are celebrating New Year today

year 1432, according to the Hijri calendar. According to the Islamic
lunar calendar, the first month of the year is Muharram. This month,
along with three other months (Rajab, Dhul Kaada, Zul-Hijjah), is a
special time for Muslims. In these months, Allah prohibits conflicts,
vendetta and war.
Muslims start their calendar from the beginning of the migration of
the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca on September 24th 622. The first day
of the month of Muharram in the year of the arrival of the Prophet in
Medina was taken as the starting point of the new era.
