Steinmeier: sanctions against Russia won't last forever

German Foreign Minister, OSCE Chairman, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, said today that Western economic sanctions aren't an end in themselves, and they won't last forever.

According to him, sanctions should be a solution to certain issues, in this case to the Ukrainian crisis. The head of the German Foreign Ministry also said that two weeks ago he visited Kyiv and Moscow last week. "I hope that our efforts will help to get out of this situation and find an appropriate way for a political solution of the problem,'' Tass cites him as saying.
