Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry accuses Armenia of violating international law

The official representative of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Hikmet Hajiyev, stated that the international community should strongly condemn the artillery bombardment of civilian targets on the territory of Azerbaijan by the Armenian Armed Forces, which is a flagrant violation of Armenia's obligations under international humanitarian law.

According to him, the responsibility for this situation falls entirely on Armenia as an aggressor country and occupier.

At the same time, he recalled that the actions of the Armenian Armed Forces on the escalation of tensions coincide with another anniversary of the occupation of Kalbajarsky district of Azerbaijan on April 2nd 1993. "In connection with the occupation of Kelbajarsky district, the UN Security Council adopted Special Resolution 822 (1993)," Trend quoted him as saying.
