Protest by "Istok" factory workers in Vladikavkaz
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaWorkers of the "Istok" factory protested against its closing-down today in the Theatre Square of Vladikavkaz, Interfax reports.
500 former workers of the factory took part in the protest action. The protest was organized by the public movement "Protect Istok", headed by Valery Bokoyev.
Protesters called on the North Ossetian authorities to protect the enterprise, as it contributes a lot to the republic's economy. They also addressed Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to stop the process of firing, as 2500 people have already lost work.
