Meeting between Ilham Aliyev and Sergey Lavrov takes place in Baku

A meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov is taking place in Baku now.

In the course of the meeting the head of state noted that he considers it as the beginning of the expansion of cooperation in the region.

Speaking about the problem of Nagorno-Karabakh, , he welcomed the peace process of talks on the settlement of the conflict based on international law. In this regard, Aliyev stressed that the ceasefire on the contact line has become possible thanks to Russia and expressed his gratitude for this, Gazeta.ru reports.
