Iranian parliament endorses draft budget of current year

The Iranian parliament approved the draft law on the state budget for the current fiscal year, which started on March 20.

During the voting, 135 deputies supported the bill, 37 deputies voted against and 6 abstained, the Iranian news agency Mehr News reports.

The budget plan has predicted an exchange rate of 29,970 Iranian rials per $1, while it is sold at 34,900 rials.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has presented the budget with revenue and expenditure of 2.67 quadrillion rials, but the Parliament increased the figure to 2.92 quadrillion rials, Trend reports.

The budget includes revenues from the sale of 2.25 million barrels of oil. The budget also assumes an average oil price of $40 dollars per barrel.
