How will situation change in Ukraine after Yatsenyuk’s dismissal?

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk resigned On Sunday, April 10th. "I decided to leave the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine,’’ he said. It is more than likely that the new head of the Ukranian government will become acting parliamentary speaker Vladimir Groisman who is nominated by the faction "Block of Petro Poroshenko."

However, as the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada who represents the Block of Poroshenko" (BPP) Sergei Leshchenko stated that the negotiations on the composition of the new government of Ukraine reached a deadlock.

At the same time, the BPP informed that a voting for the dismissal of Arseniy Yatseniuk and the appointment of a new prime minister and government staff will take place next Thursday.

COE at Slobodchuk and partners: politics, PR, elections, Sergey Slobodchuk first of all noticed that the current struggle for the post of Prime Minister should not be assessed as a full-fledged competition of politicians for the opportunity to lead the Government of Ukraine, as well as a struggle for the position of regional manager for Ukraine who will implement the business plan of transnational companies in the UK, the US and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

"Therefore, nothing will change drastically after the departure or replacement of one figure to another. The new head of government is likely to make conclusions based of significant decline of Yatsenyuk’s rating in order to avoid such mistakes,’’ the analyst said.

Director of the International Institute of Political Expertise, Evgeny Minchenko, also believes that the foundation of the political regime and the key players remain the same in Ukraine. "I think the essence of the regime and the main players won’t be changed. During the time when Yatsenyuk held the post of Prime Minister he became a very rich man, that is why nothing is to fundamentally in his life,’’ the analyst said.

Deputy dean at the Department of World Economy and International Relations at  the National Research University – Higher School of Economics Andrey Suzdaltsev stressed that Yatsenyuk’s dismissal will have a little negative impact on Ukraine. "He resigned due to his own initiative. The authorities didn’t have any real tools to remove him from his post," the analyst said.

Deputy director at the CIS Institute, Vladimir Zharikhin, expressed the following opinion: the economic policy of Ukraine will not change Yatsenyuk’s dismissal because the country is a ‘prisoner’ of the current political leadership,’’ the analyst pointed out.

According to the general director at the Center for Political Information Alexey Mukhin, the new Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s oligarchic group will start creating all sorts of intrigues with the help of the Verkhovna Rada and Petro Poroshenko in order to achieve the institutionalization of a private party in the political field. 

"It is more likely that Arseny Yatsenyuk will try to shift his team and the responsibility for what is happening in the default country and the Ukraine’s economy onto Petro Poroshenko and the country will start moving to full political and economic collapse,’’ he concluded.
