Kerry and Zarif to discuss lifting of sanctions

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with his US counterpart John Kerry in New York, on Tuesday, Mehr informs

After the closed door meeting at the UN’s Manhattan headquarters on Tuesday, Zarif told reporters that the American side can meet obligations in such a way that all parties especially the people of Iran reap the benefits which are rightfully theirs and overcome the obstacles before.

The closed meeting lasted a little more than two-and-a-half hours and was centered on ways in which the US could help remove the banking obstacles to allow Iran to re-engage in global trade and finance.

Zarif told reporters that the talks had mostly focused on properly implementing the nuclear agreement. Both officials said they would hold a second one-on-one meeting on Friday at the UN.
