May Day in Moscow

It occurred in Chicago in 1886, when the workers demonstrated for the legal establishment of the 8-hour working day. May Day was celebrated for the first time after the February Revolution in 1917. The holiday started to be official after the October Revolution.
Since 1992 May Day is officially called "The Day of Spring and Labour’’. The actions and demonstrations of different parties and movements are held this day.
Many Moscow’s parks opened their summer season this weekend. The weather allowed the Muscovites and visitors to spend the weekend outdoors.
