Evidence of Armenian officials' involvement in Panama offshore dealings

Evidence related to Armenian names in so-called Panama offshore lists are being considered now, Vahram Baghdasaryan, the head of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia, told journalists on Tuesday, Arka.am reports.

There were 37 individuals and legal entities affiliated to Armenia in the updated list of Panama offshore money makers, which was posted at the website offshoreleaks.icij.org. 

The list includes 32 addresses as well as three companies where ‘Armenia’ word is mentioned - ARMENIA GROUP S.A., ARMENIA DEVELOPMENT LTD and GPM ARMENIA LTD, two of which are registered in the British Virgin Islands. The registration of the third company is not known. All these three companies have indirect ties with Luxembourg, Panama and Great Britain. 

“The whole evidence about the 37 Armenian citizens registered in offshore zones is being examined, and there is already reaction,” he said. “If there are names, they will be scrutinized, and no suggestions should be made before that.”
