Heads of Russian regions to report on fighting crime

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree making the
governors of regions responsible for fighting crime, the president
said on Twitter.


Ingush President Yunus-Bek Yevkurov said after the signing of the
decree that Ingushetia had reconsidered over 30 criminal cases,
Interfax reports. Yevkurov was the first governor to react to the
decree.


Yevkurov said that the decree involves establishment of coordination
councils and reconsideration of refusals to open criminal cases.
The Ingush president said that he is surprised that a driver who broke
the speed limit and ran into children was released by the court. He
said that he receives such complaints by mobile telephone and when
meeting with the population.
