Five people injured in Istanbul explosion

At least five people were injured on Thursday in an explosion inside a parked car near a military post in Istanbul, Yeni Şafak reported.

All the injured people are civilians, as military sources said there were no military personnel among the victims, APA reports.

Initial reports said at least five people, including a woman, were injured and taken to hospitals.

The explosives are believed to have been detonated by remote controller as a military vehicle passed through.

Some buildings and vehicles around the scene were slightly damaged in the blast.

Fire service units were called to the scene, security forces cordoned off the area and bomb experts are investigating the incident.
