Deputy Prime Minister warned of consequences due to wage freeze

Restrictions on wage growth may hamper the development of the Russian economy, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets stated.

"Further economic development is impossible without the support of consumption today. The theme of wages is not only the implementation of President's decrees, but the basic condition for the further economic development of Russia,’’ RIA Novosti cites her as saying.

In addition, Golodets pointed out that the biggest problem is the transition from oil to a consumer economy.
