Azerbaijan ranked third in world tea consumption rating
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaEuromonitor International conducted a market study to determine which countries in the world prefer tea over coffee the most and vice versa.
It turns out, Uzbekistan loves tea the most as the drink accounts for 99.6% of the country's joint coffee and tea consumption. The opposite is true for Guatemala, which is the world's most ardent coffee drinking country.
The UK is the world's 15th most prolific tea drinker, proportionally speaking, with tea consumption making up 78.4% of that of both hot drinks.
The top ten countries that prefer tea the most: Uzbekistan, Kenya (99.2%), Azerbaijan (99.1%), Pakistan (99%), China (98.9%), Egypt (98.5%), Morocco (96.1%), Kazakhstan (95.6%), Nigeria (95.4%) and India (89%).
The top ten countries that prefer coffee the most: Guatemala (99.6%), Dominican Republic (99.5%), Brazil (97.4%), Ecuador (97.4%), Costa Rica (96.9%), Greece (96.8%), Colombia (95.7%), Philippines (94.7%), Denmark (92.2%) and Venezuela (91.2%).
