Istanbul police surround German Consulate General

Istanbul police has cordoned off the area in front of the German Consulate General to protect against anti-German protests. 

Several dozen demonstrators are protesting in sight of the consulate against the recognition of the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1915 by the German parliament. 

Yesterday Turkey has recalled its Ambassador to Berlin Hüsein Avni Karslioglu for consultations.
