Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss relations between Russia and EU, as well as the situation in Syria and Ukraine, with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"In general, [the meeting will focus on] relations between Russia and EU, on exchanging opinions on current regional problems - Syria and Ukraine. The main thing is the attempt to look at where we are heading in the relations between Russia and the European Union, and even against the backdrop of existing disagreements, what opportunities there are to support and develop dialogue," Peskov said.

"In theory it cannot be ruled out, but I cannot say whether its turn will come. Russia and European countries carry out a wide range of trade and economic relations which in some kind of way fall under regulation of the European Commission, and Nord Stream 2 is among such big projects at the stage of implementation," TASS cited Peskov as saying.
