The head of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Werner Hoyer stated that the bank intends to invest two times more funds than it was previously planned in projects outside of the European Union in order to reduce the flow of refugees to Europe.

According to him, over the next five years, additional €6 billion will be spent on the fight against migration.

"It was also decided that Europe will support those countries that received the largest number of refugees," he said.
