Steinmeier: differences between West and Russia should not lead to alienation of peoples

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, speaking in the Bundestag during debates on the 75th anniversary of Nazi Germany's attack on the Soviet Union, stated that conflict and disagreements between Russia and the West should not lead to alienation between the peoples.

"Long-term security in Europe is only possible with Russia, not against it," he said.
