Russia is able to feed itself, Medvedev says

Russia is now able to feed itself without imports of food products, the prime minister Dmitriy Medvedev announced today at a congress of the party ‘United Russia’.

"Today we gather such the crops that we were able to enter the top three states-leading suppliers of grain to the world market. The level of the food security has grown significantly. Russia really can feed itself  without imports of food’’, RIA Novosti quotes the prime-minister as saying
