Russian Embassy confirms identity of man wounded in Istanbul airport attack

The Russian Embassy in Turkey on Wednesday confirmed the identity of a Russian national wounded in the recent terrorist attack on the Istanbul international airport, Sputnik reports.

"The wounded Russian citizen said his name was Alexander Lubnin. We talked over the phone. His citizenship was confirmed by the hospital as well but we have no official information from the Turkish authorities. We were not able to clear the details over the phone as he was being prepared for the surgery," a representative of the embassy told RIA Novosti.

According to the embassy, Lubnin was in stable condition.
