Turkish Court charges military officers in coup attempt

The 10th district of Istanbul Court for Serious Crimes started today
the trial of 196 current and retired senior military officers accused
of involvement in the preparation of a military coup under the
code-named "Sledgehammer," 1news.az reports quoting the Turkish media.

For the first time in the history of the Turkish Republic high ranking
military officials will appear before a civil court.
