Azerbaijan develops military industry

Azerbaijan will establish new production sectors for the military
complex, Minister of the Defense Industry Yavar Jamalov said on
Friday, Trend reports.

He said that they plan to launch 8 new production sectors. Military
production rose 115 times from 2006 to 2010 and 3.6 times compared
with 2009.

 After establishment of Azerbaijani Defense Ministry the main goal was
to reorganize the Soviet factories. They were reconstructed, 31
industrial sectors was established. They are producing arms and ammo,
including 'Zefer', 'Zefer-K', 'Inam' pistols of NATO standard.

The minister said that Azerbaijani activities at the international
exhibition of defense industry keep improving. Such exhibitions allow
Azerbaijan to buy new technologies and establish links with various
states.

Azerbaijan is celebrating the anniversary of the Ministry of Defense
Industry. The authorities and staff of the ministry visited tomb of
the national hero Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honor and the Alley of
Shekhids.
