Kerry meets with presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaUS Secretary of State John Kerry held a meeting with the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in Warsaw, the State Department said.
The sides discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "Kerry Kerry met with the presidents of both Armenia and Azerbaijan to reiterate the need for the sides to uphold the commitments reached at the Vienna and St. Petersburg meetings," the US State Department spokesperson John Kirby said.
He also noted that Kerry "reaffirmed the United States support for substantive talks leading to a comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict".
Earlier, the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg urged the sides to reduce tensions and to refrain from violence in Nagorno-Karabakh.
