Turkish FM phones U.S. Secretary Of State regarding Armenian resolution
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAnkara became alarmed following information that an Armenian resolution would be put on the agenda of the U.S. Congress. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu talked to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by phone, Turkish Weekly reports.
Putting the draft on the agenda depends on Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, whose term in office would expire on January 3.
In his telephone conversation with Clinton, Davutoglu said this initiative could not be accepted and should be stopped immediately. Clinton said, "you should not have any doubt that we will do our best." Congress has postponed its work until Tuesday.
