11 executed for terrorist attack in Baluchestan

11 members of the terrorist organisation Jundallah have been hanged at
Zahedan prison in the south-eastern Iranian province of Sistan and
Baluchestan, the head of the local justice administration Ebkrahim
Hamidi said, Press TV cites IRNA.


A suicide bomber detonated an explosive device in the province of
Sistan and Baluchestan near the mosque of imam Husayn in the city of
Chabakhar. 38 people died and 50 were injured while holding a memorial
ceremony to imam Husayn ibn Ali at the mosque. One died in hospital.
Jundallah claimed responsibility for the act.


Jundallah (Warriors of Allah) is a Sunni organization established in
2003 and operating in Iran and the Pakistani province of Belujistan.
Iran accuses Jundallah of murders, armed assaults, kidnappings,
explosions and sabotage. Tehran believes the organization to have ties
with the special services of the USA and the UK.


On July 16, two suicide bombers in Zahedan detonated devices at the
Jami mosque. 27 people were killed and 270 injured. Al Arabia reported
that Jundallah was responsible for the act. in revenge for the
execution of its leader, Abdolmalek Rigi.


A previous attack by Jundallah was carried out in south-eastern Iran
in October 2009. 50 people were killed in Sistan and Baluchestan.
