Supreme Military Council decides to keep Hulusi Akar as Turkey's chief of general staff

Turkish General Hulusi Akar will remain in his position as the Chief of General Staff and the command echelon of the Turkish military will stay the same, Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalin announced Thursday following the critical Supreme Military Council meeting, Daily Sabah reports.

The council's decisions were submitted to Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for approval, Kalin said.
