Georgia’s Defense Minister resigns

Georgia’s Defense Minister Tina Khidasheli and the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality Affairs Paata Zakareishvili have officially resigned today. 

Deputy Defense Minister Davit Ebralidze and the Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation Ketevan Tsikhelashvili will act as the ministers until their successors are presented. 

The two ministers from Republican Party addressed the PM with request of dismissal several days ago. The decision is related with a decision of the Georgian Dream and the Republican Party concerning taking part in the upcoming elections independently.

Another minister from Republican Party Gigla Agulashvili decided to remain on the post of the Environmental Protection Minister and separated from the Republican Party. He plans to cooperate with the Georgian Dream, InterPressNews.ge reports.
