Participants in the nationalist riots on Manezhnaya Square to be prosecuted according to “softest” article

The prosecution has initiated a criminal case into the nationalist riots on December 11, according to the very "soft", third part of

Article 212 of the Criminal Code - appeals to disobey the police, riots and violence against citizens - Kommersant newspaper cites an official representative of the Investigative Committee, Vladimir Markin.

Thus, participants in an unsanctioned riot might receive up to three years of imprisonment. The "heavy" first and second parts of the Article 212 allow for up to ten or eight years of imprisonment respectively.
