Seventh day of Olympic Games: what to expect?
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaToday is the seventh day of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Athletes will compete for 24 medal sets: canoe/kayak slalom, archery, cycling, athletics, shooting, equestrian, judo, fencing, trampoline, weightlifting, swimming, women's volleyball and handball.
Russians Kirill Grigorian and Sergey Kamensky today will compete in men's rifle prone shooting competitions at 17:00 MSK, Albina Shakirova willl perform in women's skeet qualifications.
Today the last judo performances will be held at the Olympic Games. Russian Renat Saidov will fight Austrian Daniel Allershtofer in the judo men's +100 kg elimination round. Russian Ksenia Chibisova will fight German Jasmin Külbs in the women's +78 kg elimination round.
Timur Safin, Alexei Cheremisinov and Artur Ahmathuzin will represent Russia in the men’s team foil competition in fencing.
Russia will be represented by Daria Shmeleva and Anastasia Voinova in women's team sprint. The finals will start at 00:04 MSK.
Russian Vladimir Morozov will compete in 50m freestyle at 04:44 MSK. Daria Ustinova and Anastasia Fesikova will represent Russia in the semifinals of the women's 200 m backstroke. Russians Yevgeny Koptelov and Aleksandr Sadovnikov will compete in 100 m butterfly.
Day seven marks the start of athletic competitions at the Olympic tournament, but the Russian team is represented only by long jumper Darya Klishina.
A 20-year-old Russian Yana Pavlova will compete in the women's trampoline (the beginning of the qualification will be held at 16:03 MSK, finals will start 21:42).
Russian boxer Artem Chebotarev will fight in elimination round Azerbaijani Kamran Shakhsuvarly in the weight category under 75 kg .
Russian women's national handball team will play against Argentina. Russian Women's volleyball team will play against Japan.
Russian tennis players Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina will play Lucie Šafářová and Barbora Strýcová from the Czech Republic in the women's doubles semifinal.
